Henry throws 9 TD passes as Arsenal rout Wolfpack 64-36

EVERETT, Wash. — Malik Henry threw nine touchdown passes and the Michigan Arsenal forced four turnovers Saturday night in a 64-36 Arena Football One victory over the Washington Wolfpack at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Henry completed 21 of 34 passes for 332 yards with one interception as Michigan (5-6) overwhelmed Washington with an explosive aerial attack. Jairus Grissom caught nine passes for 185 yards and six touchdowns, while Daniel Williams III added eight receptions for 105 yards and three scores.

Michigan scored all nine of its touchdowns through the air, averaging nearly 16 yards per completion as Henry repeatedly found mismatches in the Wolfpack secondary. Grissom's longest touchdown reception covered 40 yards.

Washington quarterback Eric Phoenix completed 22 of 42 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns but was intercepted three times. He also rushed four times for 16 yards and a touchdown. Phoenix spread the ball among five receivers, with Deshon Williams catching nine passes for 102 yards and Aakiel Greer adding eight receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Lombana contributed two catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.

The Arsenal defense consistently disrupted Washington's offense, intercepting three passes and recovering a fumble. Khai West, Berdale Robins and Isaiah McFarland each recorded interceptions, while McFarland added a sack, a forced fumble and a blocked kick in a standout all-around performance. Michael White and Chris Fitzgerald each collected two sacks as Michigan finished with five quarterback sacks.

Washington's defense intercepted Henry once on a play by Eugene Ford, but the Wolfpack struggled to slow Michigan's receiving corps. Ford led Washington with eight total tackles, while Byron Edwards broke up three passes and Machiah Lee added two pass breakups.

Michigan kicker Oscar Roden converted six of eight extra-point attempts. Washington's Andrew Boyle made four of five PAT attempts.

The victory gives Michigan consecutive wins after upsetting league-leading Albany a week earlier, while Washington fell to 5-5 and remained in the middle of the AF1 playoff race.
